Anaesthetist

J'ai vu l'anesthésiste ce matin sur Paris. Elle m'a fait une ordonnance pour des bas de contention pour après l'intervention. Je pèse 60kg et mesure 1m52, donc deux ou trois kilos en trop. Elle pense que je vais être immobilisée un moment et je lui avais dit que j'avais fait une phlébite à 18ans. J'en ai 61 maintenant! J'aurai du garder ça pour moi-même, je pense. Également régime sans résidu jusqu'à lundi, c'est à dire pas de fruits ni de légumes, pas de pain ni de viande rouge. Que du jambon blanc, des pâtes ou le blanc de poulet et beaucoup d'eau. Elle vise l'intestin quasiment vidé lundi. Je ne vois pas comment. Aussi je serai à jeun à partir de dimanche à 17h. L'opération est prévue lundi matin. J'aurai une piqûre pour me détendre à 7h du matin. On vous donne l'anesthésie générale au bloc, puis on vous retourne pour vous mettre sur le billard après avoir été endormi. Que je suis contente que c'est comme ça. Je n'aurai pas le wi-fi à l'hôpital mais je vais prendre des notes pour publier une fois que je l'aurai, de retour chez moi. 

La bonne nouvelle c'est que mon fils qui est ambulancier va pouvoir venir me chercher pour me ramener dans le Gers allongée. J'ai de la chance car c'est pris en charge avec ma mutuelle. Le voyage  dure 7 heures mais au moins je serai en famille. J'espère qu'ils me garderont jusqu'à lundi 25 mais il y avait question de me faire sortir le 22...jour de congé pour mon fils. Je vais devoir être ferme et les supplier de me garder jusqu'à lundi.

I saw the anaesthetist this morning in Paris and she has prescribed support stockings for me for after the operation. I weigh 9st something (60kg) and am 5'1", 1m52, so not too overweight, a few pounds that's all. She is thinking of me not moving for a while and I told her I had phlebitis at age 18, I am now 61! I think I might have been better keeping that to myself. Also diet till Monday of no vegetables or fruit, no bread or red meat, just boiled ham, pasta and chicken the white meat only and lots of water. It's called a diet without residual food. She's aiming on my bowel being pretty empty by Monday somehow or other. Don't really follow that. I will be without food from Sunday at 5pm. Operation Monday morning, pre-med at 7am. They give you the general anaesthetic at the operating theatre and then turn you over once you are out. I am glad about that. I kept wondering about it but didn't dare ask you on here. I won't have wifi in the hopital but will take notes and write up once I can post. Good news is that my son, who is a paramedic, will be able to come up to Paris in the firm's ambulance and take me back lying down in it. I consider myself very lucky as it is covered by my insurance too. The trip is 7 hours but at least I will be with family. I am hoping they keep me the whole week till Monday 25th, but there was talk of Friday 22nd...when my son is not working. I will maybe have to assert myself and beg for Monday.
